Eugene Muren

Beloved husband of Vera. Loving father of Marie, Eugene Jr. (Lori) and Chris. Cherished Dida of Mallory, Atticus, Silas, Sadie and Samuel. Predeceased by his sister Slava. He will be missed by his extended family and friends in Croatia, Belgium and Slovenia. Eugene was born in Zagreb, Croatia. He passionately loved his country and was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union. He enjoyed discussing history and politics over a glass of wine. He was an avid fisherman and loved soccer, music, singing, travelling and a good party. He was a gifted electrician and worked at National Steel Car for 25 years and was a good and loyal friend who would help anyone in need. We will miss his cooking and some of his special dishes that he would prepare for different holidays. Always in our hearts. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, particularly the Cedar Grove Unit, for their care and support.

Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, December 29 from 5-8 pm with Prayers at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11 am. Burial to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
