Left this world on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. Loved by a select few, respected by many and FEARED BY ALL, Frances left an indelible mark on this earth. Frances leaves behind her beloved husband of 32 years, Glenn, her cherished daughter Yvonne Beaudet and her dear grandson Jamie Daughtery. She is also survived by her brother James Brogan of Wales. Born in Ayr, Scotland, Frances emigrated to Canada in 1966. Frances loved Canada but never applied for citizenship because she felt she had not earned the privilege. She was a long time member of the Hamilton Jaycees and was awarded the highest international honour in the organization as Senator. She was the second woman in Canada to be awarded this honour. Whether it was a friend in need of someone to talk to or an injured bird that needed help and shelter, Franny, as she was known to her friends, was there. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Saturday from 6-9pm and Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm where the Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11am. Interment Mount Hamilton Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Rheumatology Association or St. Peter’s Hospital would be appreciated. In lieu of flowers, install a bird feeder in your backyard and remember Frances every time a bird takes flight.
