Freda Eileen (Hyatt) Palmer

It is with heavy hearts on February 22, 2025, we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Freda, with her children by her side, in her 96th year. Freda was a cherished wife of the late Roy Palmer. She was a devoted mother to her "chosen" (adopted) daughter Joyce and her sons Fred (Judy) and Brian (Wanda). Pre-deceased by her daughter Judy and son-in-law D.A. Freda and Roy were married for 54 years until his passing in 2003. They raised their children to be kind, considerate and giving. She was a loving Grandmother to Wendy (Jimmy), Tamara, Adam (Kristen), Mark (Lara), Kristina (Wes), Beckie (Len), Matt (Caileah), Lindsay (Jason), Dan (Sam), Kyle (Jen), and Sean (Kate); and treasured “GG” to 17 great-grandchildren; all with Freda's zest for life. Freda is the last of 7 siblings sharing the Hyatt name and will be remembered by her sister-in-law Peggy and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many dear friends she has made over the years. We are forever grateful for her closest friend Norma - her travelling casino partner, and her husband Ted, a dedicated friend.

We want to thank all the nurses at H.G.H. and a special thanks to The Wellington Retirement Home for their care and kindness.

In keeping with Freda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. Hamilton. A Memorial Service will immediately follow in the Chapel at 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow. A private inurnment will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to CAP (Cancer Assistance Program) would be appreciated by the family. Please consider sharing a memory or story below for Freda's family.
