Frederick George Whitley

Fred was the caring husband of Verna Whitley for 65 wonderful years (predeceased by Verna July 2021). Fred will be deeply missed by his daughter Nancy Turvey (Rick) and son Rick Whitley (Beth), grandchildren Kristen (Mike), Sarah (Matt), Andrew (Anna), great grandchildren Alaric, Felix, Elle, Beckett, Hugh and Roy. Fred was born and grew up in Hamilton Ontario with his brother Bob (Arlene).

Predeceased by his father Hector and mother Elsie.

Fred had a successful career as a professional accountant first with his own firm serving many small businesses and individuals in Hamilton and surrounding area and finishing his career as part of Whitley Wodehouse. He served his profession well as a member of the Public Accountants Council for the Province of Ontario for a number of years and a term as the President of CGA Ontario, guiding the organizations through a number of significant policy matters. Fred was also a long-standing member of the Acacia Lodge (60 + Years) serving as its Treasurer for many years.

Fred loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting with close friends and family. His favorite spot was his cottage/camp in Meldrum Bay on Manitoulin Island.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
