G. Len Preston

Passed into eternal life to be with loved ones already there, on Monday, March 9, 2015 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Beryl. Predeceased by his wife of 36 years and mother of his children H. Laurene Spence (1990). Also predeceased by his parents, Frank (1954) and Cathy (1978), baby brother Ivor, brother Frank (2004) and grandson Ben (2002). Loving father of Deb Shields (Wayne), Bill (Karen), Shelley Finamore (Joe), Lennie (Tracy), Dan, and Trisha Brachlow (Andreas). Cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Len will also be sadly missed by his sister Ruth Mauch (Edwin) and brother David (Audrey), many nieces and nephews and friends. Len was retired after 30 years of dedicated service with the Hamilton Wentworth Police Department, finishing his career as a Sergeant in the detective office. He loved the Hamilton Tiger Cats, fishing, golfing and enjoyed taking art classes. Thank you to all the staff at St. Peter’s Behavioural Unit for their wonderful care of Len. Visitation will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford), Hamilton, on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Burlington.
