Gail Marie Acker

Gail passed peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Juravinski Hospital on Thursday May 22, 2014 and is finally at peace after an unexpected, courageous final fight. Gail does not walk alone, but has been reunited with those passing before her: parents Peter and Leona Venne (O’Reilly) and brother Kevin Venne. Her devotion to her family was immeasurable and she continually put the needs of others before her own. Beloved wife to John Acker (a Ford Motor Co retiree of 42 years at the Oakville plant). Loving mother and friend to Tina Acker and Tracey Acker (Steve White). Caring grandma to Kevin Acker. Gail is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins and sadly missed by many friends from all chapters of her life. Gail was a full time, whole hearted Mom and a force to be reckoned with, but also worked at the Pizza Pizza call centre for 8 years after her girls became teenagers. To celebrate Gail’s new found freedom, family and friends are welcomed to honour her spirit at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1309 King Street East in Hamilton (across from Gage Park at the delta) on Monday, May 26 from 6-9pm. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday May 27 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, Gail had requested memorial donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
