On Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital, in her 84th year, our beautiful mother was called home to Paradise to be with her Lord and Saviour. It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our mom "Jenny". Predeceased by her first husband Bronislaw Drewek (1953), her lifetime husband John Zagorski (1998), her parents, all of her siblings, and grandson Andrew Raszewski (1991). Left to mourn are her children Irene Raszewski (Tony), Wanda Walmsley (Phill) and David Zagorski. Survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Mary Konieczek, as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, and Poland.
Mom loved to garden, sew and play cards. She was a marvelous cook and it was said that she could make "soup from stones". Mom was so proud to be a Canadian and to live in such a free and beautiful country. She also cherished her Polish heritage, culture and roots. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) Hamilton on Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with Vigil Prayers at 2pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 63 Highway 20, Stoney Creek on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10am. Entombment Holy Souls Mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, please pay a random act of kindness forward in our mother's memory.
"Mom, in life you were so wise and humble. A friend to everyone, and everything to us. You are now free from pain, suffering, and tears. Rest in peace for evermore."
