George Thomas Boyko

Passed away peacefully in his 92nd year at Extendicare Nursing Home, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his wife Mary of 61 years, infant daughter Mary Boyko (1958), his parents Mike and Catharine, and his brothers John, Pat, Mike, and Peter. Survived by his loving sons Bruce (Abbie), Brad, and Bryant. Loving Papa to Grant. He will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. George was a long time employee for Inter-City Truck Lines, retiring after 43 years. He was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58, Teamsters Local 879 and a long time customer at Posners Metals. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Extendicare Nursing Home in Hamilton. Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m., and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. or to a charity of your choice.
