Suddenly at home on November 17, 2015 in his 80th year. Beloved husband to the late Judy (nee Vargo, 1998). Loving father to Laurie Spring (Bob), Butch (Veronica) and Vickie Dawson (Peter Allott). He was a proud grandpa to Luke, Joshua, Mikayla, Madison and Mitchell. He is survived by his sister Florence, his brother Bob, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Helen, Lucille (Jerry), Joie (Jack) and Chris (Linda). He is predeceased by his brother's Norman, Albert and Jack. He will be fondly remembered by all his extended family and many friends. George enjoyed 30 years of retirement from Stelco Steel and was a proud member of the RCL, Branch 163 and was a devoted Tiger Cats fan. His family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 21st at 11 a.m. in the chapel with cremation following. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
