George Patrick Roberts

Surrounded by the love of his family, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of George in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Marlene for 57 years. Loving Dad of Nancy, Kim (Duane Beales), Pat (Karen) and Tracey (Michael Petty). Adoring Bumpa of Kristy, Jennifer, Jamie, Shayne and Zack. George will be sadly missed by great grandchildren Kayla, Kallie, Ryan, Matthew, Timothy, Kaden, Abbie, Emma, sister Bev Barrett and sisters in law Elsie, Marg and Edna and many, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by parents Patrick and Edith and sisters Ger and Eleanor. George was a retired employee of Stelco. He will be missed by his baseball league H.O.S.S.P, Skyway Lanes Bowling League and by his friends at Grand River RV Resorts. He is especially missed by the "Old Farts". George loved anything sports related - baseball, hockey, football, hunting, fishing, anything he would watch and participate in them all. He loved watching his beloved Montreal Canadiens. We will miss him deeply. Visitation will be held at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
