After a lengthy illness, George passed away on December 7th, 2011 in his 90th year. George will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jenny (nee McGhie). Loving father of Janis O'Malley and Irene Mair (Jim). Dear grandfather of Irene Tankelewicz (Matt), Ross Mair (Kristy) and Lauren Mair and great grandfather of Kylie. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Mary Stewart.
George proudly served in WWll in the European Theater and was the Feather Weight Boxing Champion of Scotland in 1951. He Emigrated to Canada in 1982.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tuttle and the staff of Extendicare for their care and compassion.
His family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday December 10th, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
