After a brief illness with cancer , in his 83rd year. Jerry passed away peacefully at Emmanuel House on May 2, 2010. Predeceased by his loving companion and special friend Kay Bridge (1981). Survived by his long-time companion and sweetheart Thelma Gravis. Beloved father of Jerry Jr., Jan Leversuch (Bryan) and Billie Stringer (Cam). Also survived by sisters; June, Lucy and Reta; brothers Jack and Fred. Predeceased by brothers Reg and John. Papa to mike, Christine, Jerry Jr., Randy, Cherie, Alexa, Matt, Kayleigh, Madison, Kyle and Michael. great-grandfather to six. Also remembered by extended family Paul and Jody Wardell and Tamra Gravis. Jerry retired from Camco after 41 years and enjoyed many years at his cottage on Lake Erie. He was a lifetime member of the Y.M.C.A. and enjoyed many friendships and workouts. The family will receive friends at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from12 noon up until service time at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Emmanuel House would be appreciated.
