Giovanni Casella

Beloved husband of Domenica (nee Di Maio) for 60 years. Cherished father to sons Angelo (Diana) and Jerry (Gelsie). Adored by his grandchildren Amanda (Brandon Duxbury), Natasha, Jonathan, Jordan, and great grandchildren Daxton and Rowen Duxbury.

The eldest in his family and dear brother to Vincenzo (Catarina), Francesco, and Maria (Mario Ferrini). Dearest brother-in-law to Raffelina Di Maio (Francesco Sparano, predeceased). Cherished by many nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends in Italy, England, Canada and USA.

He touched many with his carpentry skills and always showed perfection in his trade. His joy in life was his family, the vegetable garden and soccer.

The family wishes to thank Gage House nurses and support workers at Ridgeview Nursing Home for taking care of our father and treating him like he was your papa. You always put a smile on his face and fostered a place where he created many special friendships.

Visitation at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on Thursday, February 27 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 830 Barton Street East, Hamilton, on Friday, February 28 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In Memoriam donations in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton via their website would be appreciated
