Giuseppe Spina

After a lengthy illness fighting Alzheimer's disease, he decided he was ready for better things. Peacefully passed after a heart-felt visit with family to begin the final chapter of his life. Loving husband of 60 years to Luisa and Adored father to Lucy and Nick. Cherished brother to Nicolina Smerilli (Luigi).

Predeceased by his parents Nicola and Pasqualina Spina. Giuseppe was born on September 9, 1935, in Italy and came to Canada in 1957 with the help of his uncles and aunts. His mother and sister soon after came to Canada in 1958. Giuseppe worked hard to bring the love of his life Luisa to Canada where he soon after married her in 1962. Together they started their life, bought their first home and started their family. Giuseppe worked as a caretaker at St. Daniel's Elementary school for 30 years where he retired in 2000. He will be lovingly remembered for always putting friends and family before himself which is the true meaning of a caretaker.

Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 9am-11am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 50 Brucedale Avenue E. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11:30am. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum.
