The Best Brother In Law , anyone could have.  I was very proud of him, and  how he treated and loved my sister, and  how he always treated me. A Walking "Fact Checker", We would share stories, and he would tell me  "The Rest Of The Story".      Hansie as we called him. 
Hansie,  Loved his cars, Loved his guns, and loved his "Dean". Our generations best compliment... A Real Mans Man !

I was saddened to get the notice of Hans’s passing. He was certainly a legend in the Hamilton Police Service. I knew of Hans even before I started in July, 1971 and was pleased to work with him throughout our careers. 
I remember Hans as being a “larger than life” guy! From his yellow Porsche 914 to his green 1997 Ford Thunderbird which I bought in 2017 and still have and it’s running so well!
To Darlene, please accept my deepest condolences as the world was a made better place by his life.

My sincere condolences to Darlene and all of the family. 
Hans and I never worked together as we were always at different stations, but as members of our Police Revolver Club,  we spent a lot of time at the police gun range and attending a number of pistol competitions over the years. We had a lot of good times and laughs.

Bill and I are so sorry to hear of Hans’ passing.  I had the pleasure of working with Hans in the radio room.  He loved dispatching and always had a story to tell.
Bill also worked with Hans at Kenilworth and the Mountain station for several years.
We both know Hans was a hard working, conscientious  officer who was always thoughtful, insightful, and a gentleman.

I offer my sincere sympathy to the entire family. I had the pleasure of working with Hans through the years, starting all the way back to 1973. We were involved in a few high risk arrests. I was the junior officer. He certainly impressed me with his experience.

My sincere condolences to Han's family. I worked with Hans on two occasions. First as my training officer and then later in the Radio Room. Always professional and compassionate but will be remembered as a true gentleman. Rest in Peace Hans.

Hans was a great shiftmate and I found him to be a gentleman. He was a friend to many and was respectful of his coworkers.
He had a few colorful moments on the job from the 70's which those of us around to remember can chuckle about as we have done over the years.
