December 6, 1918 – November 15, 2014.
On November 15, after a brief illness, in her 96th year, Hazel passed away peacefully at her home (Brant Centre). She is now free to join her husband Murray (Dec. 23, 1998) as they begin their adventures together. She is predeceased by her brothers Glen (Ray), Orme, Lloyd, Bert, Harvey and Jack, her sister Merle and her niece and soul mate, Kathryn Robertshaw. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, Ron Jameson (Olga), Ann Gilchrist (Doug), Lee Jameson (David), John David (Maria), Scott Jameson (Annette), Brian Jameson (Michele), Ellen Jameson (Scott) and very special family of Evelyn and Darrell Picketts. Hazel was an active member of the Ryerson United Church for over 70 years. Music was her passion and she was an accomplished pianist. She had the voice of an angel and belonged to the choir and enjoyed singing solos. She loved to entertain the Couples Club with drama, singing, dancing and acting. No task was too small. She challenged them all. She devoted her life to her church, her ministers and all the parishioners. In her quiet times, she wrote poetry and even changed words in hymns to make them her own. Travelling all over the world was always an adventure and she made many friends along the journey. A special thanks to all of the staff and Dr. Ragonetti at The Brant Centre.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Ryerson United Church, 842 Main Street East, on Friday November 21, at 1pm.
