

Helen passed away peacefully at the Blackadar Continuing Care Centre in Dundas on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born June 24, 1924 in Tornopol, Poland to Leon and Bernice Dudniczenko, emigrated to Canada in 1927, attended school in Toronto, married and moved to Hamilton in 1950 where her husband set up a dental practice. Predeceased by husband Morris in March 2008. Helen has left four children, Nadia (Don), Leona (Olly), Jon (Ruthann) and Lorry. Baba to seven grandchildren, David, Andrew, Darya, Brandi, Jennifer, Alexis and Richard. Great-Baba to Jordan, Lilly, Logan and Liam. Predeceased by one grandson, Michael and brother Ernest. Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loved to cook, bake and flower arranging. She belonged to the ladies organization, Lesia Ukrainka at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral for many years. Special thanks to Pearline and the staff at Blackadar Continuing Care for their excellent care since August 2001. Also, thanks to Ann Polos for being a long time and loyal friend. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) 905-547-1121 on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. Rt. Rev. Fr. Wasyl (William) Makarenko officiating. Reception following the service and interment at Woodland Cemetery to follow. Donations to a charity of your choice.
