Herman John De Coste

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the passing of Herman John De Coste in his 85th year. Herman passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022 with family by his side at the Hamilton General Hospital. Herman was born in 1937 in Linwood Antigonish, Nova Scotia to Martha (Delorey) and William De Coste. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce, his sisters Anna Davidson, Linda Cann, Marlene MacIsaac and Wilma Bottomley as well as brothers Norbert (his best friend ever) and Clayton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Robina, Tina Fraser, Doris Anstey and Mona Christie, brothers Harold, Seward, Leonard and Raymond. Herman was a very hard worker and was always busy. He was a wonderful, loving and caring man. He was the best husband in our 55 years together, my soulmate, my rock and my best friend. Herman was loved by many and his presence in the world will be missed. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, an expression of sympathy can be made in his name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
