I am glad you had such a special person in your life. May the love and memories you shared with your loved one bring you strength and comfort on this anniversary.

I worked with Hopie at National Commercial Bank at Red Hills Mall in Jamaica. She was a pleasure to work with. She was fairly quiet and business like. She worked well and was very reliable. I would like to express my condolence to her family and friends. I know she will be missed.

Hopie you have always been a kind and pleasant  person. I remember those days when I use to come by you for holidays every morning breakfast would be on the table as soon as we were up and you would always find some ti koime to sit and joke even though you was such a busy person.  You was always a courageous woman and for that I really  admire you. You will be greatly  missed hun by us all. God knows best hun and he was ready to take you home. Sleep on.

My deepest condolences to the Deleon's family .I continue to feel that deep sense of loss. I remember visiting Hopie's Pre Prep time after time to  give technical support as an officer from the Early Childhood Commission . Hopie was always receptive to ideas to enhance her school's programme.  I became very good friends with the Deleon's  family and  found Hopie to be a real genuine, calm respectful and sweet person, seem reserved but a gentle giant , always smiling. I truly miss her and  is thankful that she is in a better place. RIP Hopie. Dearest Hopie had the greatest smile to light up the place. Growing up with her as a cousin will always be a precious memory in Sunday School, High School and then as married women and moms. Although our paths had not crossed for 20 years we  cherished her. Only recently we passed by her school and commented on her legacy not knowing she'd be gone so soon. 
Rejoicing she lived such a meaningful life blessing others and honouring her Lord & Saviour Jesus.  


I remember most that big smile,your passion for education.Teaching and learning was your true calling and you served with dignity and pride  in the field.  R.I.P Auntie Hopie.
Your presence on earth and your life was a  meaningful one as you touched hearts and lives.🌷🌷🌷

When I think of my dear sister hopie I can’t help but to think of our mother. She had such a gentle and loving way about her while also being able to keep everyone and everything calm, cool and in order.  Hopie you will always be dear to my heart. I will see you in glory my sweet sister.

It is with great sadness that we are here but with much happiness that we recall memories of Auntie Hopie.  My husband and I will always know her as being a loving, warm and inviting human being with a peaceful soul and a calming smile. It was especially beautiful watching her playful interactions with her husband, children and grandchild. These memories will not die and so she lives on in all of us.  Our condolences to the DeLeon family, loved ones and friends.

My dearest sister as I send this brief memorial, so many thoughts come flooding to my mind.
It is still difficult to process the reality that you are no longer physically with us.
You were always so positive and encouraging. The selfless way in which you lived your life is am example for us to emulate.
There are so many cherished memories that I will always retain;
Memories of that smiling easygoing personality, your deep love for the Lord and his people, your practical love for the family, and little things like your mannerisms, phrases and words. 
We cannot fully understand why you had to go so early, but the Lord knew your service here was completed so He called you to himself.
Now that you have preceded  us to our heavenly Father's house, we look forward to to the grand reunion. In the meantime, keep daddy's company.

You are my sis in so many ways. Words cannot express the heartache I felt when Lolly called with that terrible news. You were the calm before, during and after a storm. 
When we felt the the pressure when Lol was moving we just had to look at how calm you were to know we would get it done. You promised you would come back to see the renovations, but our precious Saviour had other plans for you. 
We are not sure how we will make it through without you. We will try to remember your strength and borrow some from you. Hopie my sister we miss you but will always love and keep you in our hearts.

My sweet cousin Hopie was just that... one of the sweetest, most gentle, kindest persons I've ever known. I got to know her so much more when she immigrated to Canada.  She would faithfully and frequently take the time to come and visit her Uncle Alfonso and Aunty Elmore on her way home from church on Sunday's, knowing they were housebound and unable to get out.  They looked forward to seeing her always smiling face as she came  through the front  door, receiving her warm, heartfelt  hugs, engaging in lively conversation, as she managed to get a word in before Charles :)  and of course, the all-necessary, word of prayer.  I so appreciated her thoughtfulness and expression of love.  She was a generous and caring person and is so sadly missed by us all.

Hopie you remind me so much of my dear sis  Lorice and I know both of you were extremely close . Hopie when you thought me in Sunday School when I was about 5 yrs old you were the first person to explain John 1 v 1 in the beginning was the word and the word was With Gid and the word was God I remember that explanation to this day . I thank God that your life   began and you walked with the word and you ended with the word ( our Lord Jesus Christ)  and now you are with the Word. To be with Christ is far better Sweety

I still can’t wrap my head around it! My friend has left me. I want to express my condolences to the family of My dear friend Hopie.  I know you all know, that she loved you all so much. She made me feel like family. 

  My aunt was recovering from surgery in Kingston and needed a place to stay.  No surprise,  Hopie took her in, no question. Charles and the children made her feel at home. I will never forget their kindness. 

  Quiet, selfless, strong Hopie. I will never forget your warm smile, your caring personality.  You had that inner strength that emanated from your love for the Lord. That God-filled love for humanity always shone like a diamond. Hopie, I will surely see you again as I know where you have gone. Gone but never forgotten. 

My dearest cousin, you meant the world to all who knew you!  Your kind and gentle spirit will remain forever etched on our hearts. When I was in the hospital last year, you were one of the first to reach out to me......You touched  so many lives with your kindness,  always smiling, even until the end....may your sweet soul rest in peace, until we meet again!

I recall when I was about 12 or 13 I went to spend holidays in Linstead with my aunt. I was always a Mama's boy and after a little over a week I became home sick. My dearest sister called to check up on how I was doing and i told her I was feeling home sick. By the next day she left work at National Commercial Bank on Spanish Town Road took the bus and was on her way to Linstead to get her baby brother. I will never forget that. We took the bus back to Kingston to Daisy Avenue in Mona where she was living at the moment. I will never forget how she cared for me and made me feel at home. I felt so reassured being at her house and even though she would leave me to go to work in the days the fact that I was with my sister who loved and cared for me so much made all the difference. I stayed with her until it was time for us to go to St. Elizabeth back home to mom. Such was my sister very caring and thoughtful. We shared a special bond always very concerned about the long hours I have to work. I am so delighted I got the chance to spend a night with her in her home in Canada. She and Charles made me feel like the prince had arrived. They invited over friends and relatives and Charles  and my sister put on their usual spread. Words aren't enough to say how much I love my sister and how much I will miss her love and affections and her genuine care. Hopie we love you dearly but God loves you best. He saw that your work on earth was finished and he called you home to rest. RIP my beloved sister.

Missing you my beloved twin sis, my heartbeat, my all and in all. 

I feel like a part of me died with you. I felt every stroke in my heart as your heart faded. I was dying with you. Life will never be the same without you. But I take great comfort that you are not lonely as you are in that beautiful land that never grows old. 
No more vacations together to laugh and reminisce over our childhood days. I will always carry you in my heart. Every beat reminds me of how much we feel for each other while you were alive and even as you took the last breath. Rest on my beloved sis. I love you in life and also in death.

Not one of our siblings expected you to go home so soon. We will always remember you for the sweet, kind, caring and loving person you were to all of us. See you in the great land by and by.

I met Hopie about 20 years ago at Kingston Open Bible Church. My first impression of her was “Wow, what a sweet infectious smile and a gentle spirit!” She was always a pleasure to be around because her personality was so warm and welcoming. We had the opportunity to serve together in the Usher and Sunday School Department, and it was no surprise that we quickly bonded and became inseparable. Soon our families felt like one as our children also became great friends.
 
Hopie became the sister I never had; my friend and confidant. We hugged and cried together when she migrated to Canada but the miles between us did not separate our friendship, it only made it stronger. We made sure to continue filling each other in on what we called “the happenings”…which was our secret. We prayed for each other, laughed with each other and our friendship never skipped a beat and it meant so much to me.
 
I miss you so much Hopie – your big bear hug, your kiss, your smile and how much you truly cared about me. How can we; Carl, Carla, Brenton, Ana-Kay and myself say goodbye. Thank God we don’t have to, you are in the arms of the Lord and some sweet day we will meet again.
 
Rest in peace my sister, my friend. We love you, but God loves you best.

Hopie, My Hopie
I can’t believe you are gone. We shared so many wonderful memories together over the years. We are always so proud of our sisterhood. We have been so involved in each other’s lives. Whether it’s fun, sicknesses or even moving, we all show up to help.
When I moved recently, after the other sisters left you stayed an extra week to make sure I got settled in my new home.  You worked so hard to ensure that my previous home was left in pristine condition. 
I can still see your face insisting that you won’t leave before purchasing my housewarming gift.   You were so thrilled and full of excitement when you found it. Your warm, bright, smile with that twinkle in your eyes was all over your face.  When I suggested to taking a picture to send to the other sisters your excitement could not be contained your quick response was “Yes, yes.”
Hopie I’ll miss your comments on the sister’s group chat. I will especially miss your comments on TT’s outfits and her performances . 
Hopie you were such an awesome person. You always reminded me so much of mom, always so well put together, nice and calm spirited. You always try to find the good in everyone. We will most definitely miss you from our sisterhood. It will never be and it’s NOT THE SAME without YOU!! Sleep on sis, love and miss you dearly.

You were always so full of life and love (and the only one who could calm down Uncle Charles if he got upset). I will miss u dearly.  You may be gone but will never be forgotten. Just want to express my condolences to the Palmer family.  I am so glad I was able to spend a little time with her when she visited Maryland last year. She means so much to all who knew her.

My dear sister Hopes,

I will miss you terribly. Thanks for all the lessons you have taught me. Those lessons have impacted my life so much and helped me to be the person I am today.  You thought me to keep my word to others or no one will be able to trust what I am saying. I’ll miss you being my “vault “ once we had a conversation it was stored away and always just between us.  I will miss your ability to see things even when they are not spoken and your gentle response.  I’ll miss our warm  excited greetings, always rocking from side to side when we met.  Sis the silence, the void is heartbreaking. I’ll miss you at our sister’s gatherings where we’d exchange gifts and talk all at once and laugh all night. I’ll miss the light in your eyes when you get excited. I’ll miss calling you by your nickname.  I miss being bossy to you and Patsy because you’re always a team whenever we meet. I’ll just miss you sooo much my sweet sister.  I’m so happy that our parents  taught us to love The Lord so I know I’ll see you again. Rest in sweetheart I love you “big much”💕💕

I was fortunate to share Hopie in more than one capacities. As her cousin, and as her Supervisor from the Ministry of Education when she was the principal of Hopie's Early Childhood Development Centre. 
Her capacity to switch from the Financial Sector to Education was what really impressed me in my capacity as her Supervisor and also made me proud to be her cousin. A beautiful person . A genuine soul.

The loss is painful now but the happy memories will be our way of being able to cope and to accept that it is the will of the Lord. Walk good  Cuz.

We shared many fun times as we attend  social activities together, one that stand out in my memory was  our trip to Lime Cays on a little boat, I was so scared of the water, but you reassured me that all would be okay  and indeed it was. Family was always  important to you  and this is what I admired mostly about you, how you loved and cared for your family, especially  your children and sisters. Hopie my sister my best friend my everything my all I cannot believe you are not here with us anymore.  Hopie was such a kind gentle loving and selfless person we shared such fond memories while we were growing up I remember Everytime we meet you always remind me of our childhood plans u always say remember when we get older we are going to live together or next door to each other and I can see that warm smile as u say those words.  I remember we always have to wash our ribbons for our hair the Saturday before Sunday school the next day and if that's not done our mom would be mad or a spanking might b the end result for some reason I always forget and come Sunday morning when we are r called for our hair combing and I don't have mines I could hear her soft sweet voice 'Patsy you can use mines' not withstanding a punishment might b forthcoming Imiss u so very very much but I take hope and confident in the fact that we will meet again what a rejoicing that will be. I love u now and will do for the rest of my life here on this earth Hopie loved the Lord and was a devote believer in our Lord and Saviour I know you r resting in the arms of Jesus so sleep on sis and take your rest.
