Hugh Johnston Dunlop

In his 92nd year after a long battle with Alzheimers Hugh passed away at St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke. Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret (2003). Cherished father of Marilyn and her husband Larry. Devoted granddad of Stott (Mary Beth) and Julie (Patrick) and great-granddad of Max. Hugh was born in Mauchline, Scotland and came to Canada in 1948 with his wife Margaret. He was a draftsman and then a supervisor at Otis Elevator for 25 years. In 1975 he became a Treasurer Manager for Otis Elevator Credit Union and was instrumental in it's amalgamation with the Hamilton Street Railway to become Hamilton City Credit Union where he was manager until his retirement. Hugh was an avid curler and golfer at Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club. He also taught the blind to play golf. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke for all their compassionate and excellent care over the years that Hugh was a resident there. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke or the Burlington Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of life to be held at a later date.
