Irene Elizabeth MacDonald

Peacefully passed away at the

Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington

on Monday, May 27, 2013, in her

96th year. Dearly beloved wife of

the late John MacDonald of 47

years. Cherished mom of Gina (Bob),

Leydon (Barb), Irene (Ralph), Steve

(Carol), Madeleine (Charlie), Ken

(Terri), John (Sheila), Martha (Bryan),

Douglas (Penny), Gary (deceased),

Jim and Anthony (Bruce). Lovingly

remembered by 16 grandchildren

and 14 great-grandchildren. Predeceased

by three sisters and two

brothers. Special thanks to Dr. Swan

and the Palliative Care Team at

Joseph Brant Hospital for their

wonderful care and compassion.

Irene will be sadly missed by many

nieces and nephews, as well as

friends she had at First Place and

Bonnie Place. Irene was a long time

member of St. Charles and St.

Patrick's Church and the C.W.L.

The family will receive friends at

the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL

HOME, 1774 King St. E. (at

Kenilworth Ave.) on Sunday from

2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary service

Sunday at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass

will be celebrated from St. Patrick's

Roman Catholic Church (Hamilton)

on Monday at 10 a.m. followed

by interment at Holy Sepulchre

Cemetery. Donations to the Hamilton/

Burlington SPCA or the Ontario

Heart and Stroke Foundation would

be appreciated.
