Jakov passed away at the Hamilton General Hospital on April 6, 2014 at the age of 82. Loving husband of Stefica for 56 years. Devoted father of Grace, Ed and his wife Catherine. Doting and proud Poppa Jack of Katlynn and LeeAnn. Remembered fondly by his many family and friends in Canada and Croatia, especially his brother Tony and family. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with Vigil Prayers at 7:15pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 9:30am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Assistance Program of Hamilton would be greatly appreciated by the family.
