Jim was predeceased by his father, mother, brother, and sister. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 64 years, June; his cherished daughter Michele (Gary); and his beloved sons David (Kathy), and Bill (Bonnie). Grandpa Jim’s memory will be held dear by his grandchildren Carrie, Christie, Katie, Taylor, Keenan, Alyssa, Jack, and Ashe, as well as his great-grandchildren Lucas, Lyla, Robyn, and Peyton. He will be deeply missed by all his extended family and friends especially his “sister” Brenda.
After retiring from Stelco following 39 dedicated years, Jim embraced life to the fullest. A proud member of the “Old Farts” club, he enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, devouring chicken wings, and savoring a cold beer with friends. Jim had a complex relationship with his gardens and lawn but took great pride in both. His love for music and classic films added joy to his days. A hardworking man who dedicated himself to providing for those he loved, Jim had a special bond with his June Bug. Beneath his rugged exterior lay a deeply caring and generous heart.
“I did it my way.”
The family of Jim would like to thank the first responders, and Cresmount Funeral Home for supporting them during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A celebration of Jim's life will take place at Tracie’s Place Restaurant and Karaoke on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 2pm – 5pm - 592 Upper James St. Hamilton, ON L9C 2Y8
