

It is with heavy hearts that Jimmy’s family announces the peaceful passing of a truly amazing man on August 4, 2019. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary, treasured son Brendan, his precious granddaughter Madison, and all his siblings (Frank, Mary, Rose, Pat, Tommy, Robert, and Pauline). Much loved father of Robert (Cheryl), Seamus (Mary), Angela Evans (Ken), Fiona Rollo (Gordon), Terry (Diane), Grainne Thomas, Siobhan Donaghy-Hughes (Dave), Donna Kendellen (Doug), Fidelma DiFlorio (Paul) and Moya DiPietro (Emidio). Jimmy was the cherished grandfather to 29 and great grandfather to 12. He will also be greatly missed by his faithful dog, Erin. Jimmy ran a successful farm machinery business and was an active member of town council in his native Ballycastle, N. Ireland. In 1968 he immigrated to Canada with his family where he worked tirelessly to provide for them and continued working until he was 84 years young. He was a proud member of the Irish Canadian Club and a staunch supporter of the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Jimmy’s family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Friday, August 9, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 19 View Point Ave. on Saturday, August 10 at 10 a.m. followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery in Ancaster. In lieu of flowers, Jimmy preferred that donations be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, the Canadian Mental Health Association, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
