

James Leon Kemp "Jimmy" "Bud" - Passed away suddenly September 19, 2009 at age 51. He was the cherished husband and buddy to Joan (Apigian) his loving wife of 25 years. He leaves behind his adoring daughter Leona who truly was his pride and joy and the apple of his eye. Mourning his passing are his mother-in-law Armene Apigian and sister-in-law Alice O’Hara of Hamilton. His large Bahamian family who are greatly saddened include brother Berkley, sisters Betty, Karen (Sherrick), Zilpha; he is predeceased by parents Hilda and James, brothers Salathiel, Paul and sister Beverly. He leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews along with countless friends from the community of West End and Freeport Bahamas. Jim was a letter carrier with Canada Post for 21 years. Born in the sunshine of the Bahamas, Jim always maintained a sunny smile and outgoing personality; throughout his 27 years in Canada he made countless friends. A proficient golfer, he pursued his passion at Hidden Lake Golf and Country Club. Jim always had something funny or encouraging to say to friends and complete strangers; he enjoyed imparting his advice to his entire family and always tried to help them through hard times. He will be missed greatly by Charlie, Margaret, Lindsay, and Jennifer Vitanza and Marilyn and Mary Apigian.Family will receive friends at the CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME “UPPER JAMES CHAPEL”, 1020 Upper James (just north of the Linc) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Church of the Resurrection, 435 Mohawk Rd. W. On Tuesday at 1pm followed by interment in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
