Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at WLMH on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the age of 81. Beloved husband and best friend of Mary for 56 wonderful years. Loving father of Michael (Andrea). Predeceased by his cherished son, Dean (2013). Proud Dedo of Sophia, Quinn, and Madalyn, and fondly remembered by Corrie. Survived by his brother, Nick Frlan (Marta). Predeceased by his brother, Eli Frlan (Cathy). Janko will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends in Canada and Croatia. Born in Sosice, Croatia, Janko came to Canada in 1966, and has been married since 1968 to his wife, Mary. He was a dedicated employee of Dofasco, retiring after 25 years of service.
Visitation at the MARKEYDERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), on Sunday, from 5-7 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton, on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Mountview Gardens, Stoney Creek.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janko's memory to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby.
