Dear John,

I was truly saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. It was an honour to care for her, and I will always remember her warmth, resilience, and the grace with which she faced each day.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this difficult time.  I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of your mother’s journey.

I will be holding you and your family in my thoughts on Saturday, whether or not I am able to attend in person.

I remember Jean visiting her Aunty Helen and Uncle Eddie in Scotland with her parents and brother Danny, when we were oh so young, we tried to play the piano and thought we were popstars, sharing half a mars bar each. As years went on we lost touch until Jean and her dad came back over to Scotland for a visit, it was like we hadnt been apart chattering away, we visited Granton Road where our granny used to stay and took pictures and reminisced about visiting her. We went to the Forth Road Bridge and Crammond Beach and Ocean Terminal and saw The Royal Yacht Britannia, her dad taking great interest. She talked about her grandaughters with such love and was so proud. Jean was a very special cousin to us, I will miss her funny accent her laugh and joy she brought wherever she went. R.I.P Jean xxx

I have known my friend for 31 years, we first met at Mount Hamilton Church, we became friends automatically.  I met her Mom and Dad after a few weeks they accepted me with open arms.  It was I lost a Mom and gained another, Jean's Dad was a kind gentle person which I had the honor of calling him Dad.  Knowing  Jean's family was a dream come true, our friendship grew beyond measures I never had a friend for that long until I met Jean. My friend was the kindness person one could ever meet, I witnessed her giving a coat and pair of shoes to a woman going through garbage that's the kind of friend I had.  My dear friend has now passed and is with her Mom and Dad and Brother, fly high Jean your gone but will always be in my heart forever R.I.P. Until I meet you again

I know I have not been blood family, but I’ve known Jean and her family since I was the age of 11 years old. Jean and my mother, her best of friends, and when I first met Jean and her mother, I never felt that love before because a year prior when I was 10 my mom‘s mother, my grandmother who I loved and cherished passed away. When I first met Jean‘s mother and she hugged me for the very first time she opened up my heart and removed the brick that I put up because I wouldn’t want anybody in after I lost my grandmother. From that day forward, Jean’s parents took me in. I asked what would they like me to call them, and Jean‘s mother replied you can call me “gamma”. From that day forward, I was adopted into the family and became their own. I looked up to Jean as my aunt, my best friend. I loved jeans with all of my heart. When I got the news that she passed away I was devastated. Because now I’ve lost my aunt Jean And the last member of the family that took me in 31 years ago and loved me unconditionally even through all the heartaches my own issues and they loved me without any question. You will be deeply miss Jean, but never ever forgotten because I will always hold the best memories in my heart of you, gamma, gampa and uncle Dan ♥️
