CONNELL, Joan Following a long life characterized by incomprehensible strength in the face of tragedy, an enduring spirit, a loving, caring nature for others and unfailing humour, Joan peacefully passed away, in her 91st year, at St. Peter's Hospital on October 7, 2009. Deeply loved by her daughters Mary Jane and Janice, her sons-in-law Kurt and Michael, and her adoring Grandchildren, Katie, Coulter and Tucker. A private cremation has occurred. The family will welcome friends at Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main St. East, Hamilton on Friday, October 16th at 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held in Marlatt's Chapel the following morning Saturday, October 17th at 10 a.m. with a reception immediately following. Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery. A heartfelt thanks to all those who cared for her at St. Peter's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Brothers Association or St. Peter's Hospital Foundation Memorial Program, Hamilton.
