We are so sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. Our sincere condolences to her family. She was our neighbour and friend for many years at Garden Cres. Whenever we went on walks, it was a common occurrence to stop and chat with Joanne, as she sat on her front porch. Everyone in the neighbourhood seemed to stop and enjoy chatting with her.
Even though she will be missed here, we are comforted that she will now be reunited with her beloved husband Gren.

It was my good fortune to know Joanne, my dear friend and long-time neighbour. Joanne and her husband Gren were wonderful neighbours sharing in the good times and helping in the challenging times. We laughed every day. Joanne loved Halloween and often dressed up with a grandchild in tow. The children living nearby received special treats. Christmas was a special time that she celebrated with both family and neighbours. We enjoyed a breakfast or lunch out now and then. Joanne had a sixth sense and provided help when it was most needed. I recall a time following back surgery that I was unable to move and not doing well. I heard a knock at my door and Joanne was there to provide some apple juice. I would hear a knock at my door and Joanne would be there with supper. There are many times that Joanne has been a thoughtful friend. I will never forget. Family was important to Joanne. She was especially proud of Karen and Lori who would frequently be at the house to help out or celebrate family events. She often spoke of her grandchildren and great-grand child who were her joy.
My son Daniel and I express our deepest sympathy to family. Joanne was a treasure.

Norm and me are very sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. We had some laughs sitting at the kitchen table. I always called her Mrs. Crooks and she would say, “please call me Jo”, and I would say, “nope, can’t do that” then we would chuckle. She was a great lady Lori and Karen. Please accept our deepest condolences.

Jo was a loyal friend, a straight shooter and genuinely kind. She was honest and not afraid to speak her mind. Jo was no nonsense but liked a good laugh. She had grit, gumption and courage that pushed her forward during some rough times. I will forever miss her and never forget her.
