John Michael Ilchene

With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of John at home on May 2, 2022. He was a proud Father, Poppy, Brother, Uncle, Teacher, Friend and Habs Fan! John is survived by his children, Tim and Kerry, Jennifer and Mark (Goldsmith), Jessica and Kevin (Spence) and Luke. His grandchildren meant the world to him, Wesley, Max, Natalie, Jack, Victoria, Ben and Evie. John is survived by his sisters, Pat Ertl (late Peter 2019), Chris Oates (Bill), Irene Rand (Jim Ecclestone and late Rein Rand 1999). Predeceased by his parents John (1989) and Olive (1987) and brother Richard (1952). John impacted many students over his years teaching high school in Hamilton at Cathedral, Bishop Ryan and St. Jean de Brebeuf. There are many wonderful memories of his teaching career. John was known for his sharp wit, his puns and jokes and he will be missed immeasurably. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on Tuesday, May 10th from 6pm-8pm and Wednesday, May 11th from 1pm-3pm.
