Josip Palisak

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Josip on January 20, 2024 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Mary for 57 years. Loving father of Aileen (Tomislav) and Leonard (Susanne). Cherished Didi of Ava (Nicholas), Maksim and Melania. Predeceased by his parents Stjepan and Tereza Palisak. Dear brother of Mary Cerovac (Steve). Adored uncle of Dennis Cerovac (Marian), Derrick Cerovac (Mandy) and their children. Brother-in-law of Barbara Cvitkovic (the late Darko). Predeceased by his nephews Eric and Allen Cvitkovic. Josip will be deeply missed by cousins, Kumovi, extended families and friends in Canada and Croatia. He will be remembered for his resilience to never give up, to keep fighting and his deep love for his family and friends which held a deep place in his heart. Special thanks to Dr. Hastings as well as the wonderful staff, nurses and doctors at the Juravinski Hospital for their compassionate care through the years and in his final days. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, on Wednesday, January 24 from 4-8 pm with Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 10 am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
