Beloved partner of Joseph Albanese, and devoted mother to Jennifer and Jean. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Hailey, Kai, Tristan, Sage, Robin, and Makoa. Juanita was a dear sister to Remedios and Maria Theresa. Born on February 8, 1944, in Manila, Philippines, she was the cherished daughter of Macario and Pacita Asual. Juanita’s professional life was marked by a strong commitment to helping others. She worked as a recruiter for Ford Super Car, where she played a key role in bringing skilled mechanics from the Philippines to Canada—providing life-changing opportunities for many families, many of whom remained lifelong friends. Later, she dedicated over 25 years to the City of Hamilton, working within Public Health Services, before retiring in 2011.
Juanita will be remembered for her generous spirit, warm smile, and unwavering positivity. Her determination and resilience were truly inspiring. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—spending time at the casino playing slots, cheering on tennis matches, and listening to the music of Engelbert Humperdinck. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Emmanuel House Hospice, St Joseph's Hospital, and Juravinski Hospital and to Joe and Hailey for their exceptional care and support in recent years.
In accordance with Juanita’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel, with an Urn Committal to take place following the service at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, 680 Mud Street East, Stoney Creek.
