She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Charles Guthro (2001). Karen was a devoted mother to Don Gavey and Phil Gavey (Vera-Lynn), and a cherished grandmother to Matthew and Samantha. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Alexa, Justin, and Noah. Karen was a loving aunt to Christina Osborne and Tom Osborne. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Christina Osborne, as well as her brother, Tom.
Karen will be fondly remembered for the deep love she had for the many dogs she cared for throughout the years, especially her beloved dog, Penny Lane. In memory of Karen, donations may be made to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.
Visitation will take place at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Rymal Road East.
