Peacefully, Karl passed away with his beloved family at his side on June 12, 2011, his 77th year, following a hard fought battle with cancer. Karl will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Trudy, who was his rock during his 2 1/2 year illness, and by his loving children Mike (Carol) and Monica (Edward), who will miss him beyond words. Karl was the most amazing and gentle Opa to his adoring grandchildren Paul, Nicole, Nolan, Jordan and Brandon as well as to his beloved granddog, Indy. His stories, advice, encouragement and the 'twinkle in his eye' will never, ever be forgotten. Karl will always hold a special place in the hearts of many dear friends and family both here and in his childhood birthplace of Germany ("Schones Deutschland"). A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Major, Sue, Dr.Hirte and Heather at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their invaluable care and support of Karl during the past 2 1/2 years, as well as to the wonderful 3B nursing staff at St. Peter's Hospital, who did what they said they would do in caring for Karl in his last days. The family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, UPPER JAMES CHAPEL, 1020 Upper James St. Hamilton on Wednesday, June 15 from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Private interment to be held at a later date, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Juravinski Cancer Centre and/or St. Peter's Hospital - we know Dad would have gratefully endorsed this.
YOU ARE LOVED, REMEMBERED AND FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
