Loved wife of the late Thomas MacDonald, survived by her daughters Darlene McKillop and Cathy Costanza (Christopher), her son Shane MacDonald (Nicole) and predeceased by her precious son, Danny MacDonald. Grandmother of Erin Cooper (Mike), Matthew McKillop, Kevin McKillop (Nicole and her daughter Alexis), Emma MacDonald and Ethan MacDonald. Great Grandmother of William and John Cooper.
Lenore developed close attachments over the years with friends in St. Elizabeth’s Village and the Village of Wentworth Heights – she never forgot the name or the face of a friend. Lenore worked for 22 years as a home health care technician at O’Hanian & Bourque Pharmacy (Dell Pharmacy).
In her retirement, she enjoyed travel and many adventures with friends and family. Lenore revived her interest in roller skating after her children were grown, taking her new adventure to the provincial and national championships. She was the winner of many medals and accolades, but her biggest skating joy was sharing her love of the sport with her granddaughter Erin. When she moved on from skating, she started hula dancing with the Hula Wahines, a creative group of senior dancers, who often performed in colourful costumes for local recreational centers and seniors’ groups. Lenore was very keen on staying busy and joined several exercise and fitness groups over the years and was always willing to do what she could to stay fit. Even during the Covid lockdown, she joined online groups, learning how to attend meetings on Zoom. Always up for trying something new, Lenore enjoyed her time at the Village of Wentworth Heights and participated in recreational activities and all that retirement life offered. Many residents, as well as staff at the Village of Wentworth Heights, offered her friendship and made her days fun and comfortable.
Lenore’s family is grateful for the time she spent at the Village of Wentworth Heights and would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the residents who became her friends, and to the staff, nurses and PSWs who helped her live her good life. She will be sadly missed and will be forever in our hearts and memories. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
