Passed away at Shalom Village in Hamilton on Friday, March 9, 2012 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Rudy (1989). Loving mother of Linda Hollick (John), Pat Luscombe (Dan), Mary, Tom (Heather) and Nancy McArthur. She will be fondly remembered by her 10 granddaughters, Teresa, Christina, Terra, Amy, Megan, Heather, Patricia, Jessica, Kelsey and Robin and great-grandchildren, Sam, Jesse, Claire and Benjamin and her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son John, granddaughter Cindy Lee, her brothers Jack McCarthy (Margaret), William McCarthy (Audrey) and sisters Eileen Pearce (Jack), Monica McCarthy and in-laws Elmer (Aleta) and Ollie (Helen). Leona was a proud veteran of WWII, serving in the women’s division of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Special thanks to the staff of Shalom Village Long Term Care Facility for their care and support over the years. A Celebration of Leona’s life will take place at a later date.
