Nina was happy and healthy and looking forward to spending time with her family.Beloved wife of the late Mario Zanin (2008) and loving mother of the late Laura Rinieri (2018). Cherished mother to Carlo Zanin, Lisa (Vince) Vincelli, and Paola (Jason) Mancini. Loving mother-in-law to Robert Rinieri. She was treasured and adored by all her grandchildren Geoffrey (Angela), Mario, Mark, Nathan, Andrew (Anna), Chris (Vanessa), Sophia, Justin, Colton, Nolan and Logan and great grandmother to Nathan and Emma. Predeceased by her loving parents Giuseppe and Albina Privati and her siblings and in laws Anna Maria (Aurilio) Balbo, Rolanda (Mario) Ciarrocchi, (Giuseppina) Privati, and Rosella (Giovanni) Ferretti. Survived by her brother Roberto Privati and many nieces and nephews in Italy.
She was born on May 11, 1936 in Ascoli Piceno Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1958 on her own to meet the love of her life Mario and start her family in Hamilton. She lived in the same home on Beacon Avenue the entire time she was here over 60 years and loved her home and surroundings deeply. Its difficult to express how loving a mother and grandmother she was and the impact she had on everyone she knew. Nina led a simple but happy life, when asked, she would always respond “I’m O.K and come over whenever you can and let’s be together”. She truly appreciated every moment spent with family and we all took advantage of those visits. She loved cooking, baking, playing cards, bingo, going to the casino and she was blessed to be able to travel extensively over the past decade with family and to visit her roots in Ascoli. The family would like to thank the staff at the General Hospital Emergency department who did everything in their power to make the last hours of her life comfortable for her and her family. Special thanks to trauma nurse Mark who showed true care and compassion going above and beyond through his entire shift.
