

Peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in her 50th year and after a short battle with cancer Lilia was called to be with the Lord in heaven. Her kindness, warm heart and love for her family and friends will be sadly missed. She is predeceased by her parents Protacio and Gloria Banzil of the Philippines. Lilia leaves behind a loving husband of over 20 years, Steven, daughter Amanda and son Alexander, brothers Noel, Lito and William, sisters Liza, Lorna, Lizel, Rose and Lian, many brother and sister in-laws, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and friends. Lilia worked for over 25 years at Princess Bingo and made many friends there and met the love of her life Steven there. Many thanks to the staff at Juravinski Hospital ward C4 and ICU nurses and doctors and a special thanks to nurse practitioner Kari Kolm who helped her so much through her journey. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Assistance Program (CAPS) www.cancerassist.ca would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Visitation will be held on at Cresmount Funeral Home , 322 Fennell Ave. East on Friday, July 22 from 5 – 9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church 305 East 37th Street, Hamilton at a later date following cremation.
