Livia Melarangeli

With her loving family by her side, a gentle heart has stopped beating at her daughters home, with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother and best friend, a compassionate and amazing lady with a strong will for life, on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the age of 92. Mom left us to join her beloved husband Ernesto (November 5, 2009), her loving parents Sante and Carmela Zucconi, her precious daughter Angela Basile, her adoring granddaughter Connie Cipriano, her sister-in-law Splendora, brothers, sisters, sister-in-law and many other family overseas. Survived by her caring children Francesca Cremonese (Giuseppe), Alessandro Melarangeli (Donna), Carmela Galli (Antonio) and son-in-law Giovanni Basile. Our precious “Nonna” will be lovingly remembered by twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one on the way. Also left to mourn are her brother-in-law Luigi Melarangeli (Uliana) of Hamilton, sister-in-law Giulia Zucconi and many nieces and nephews overseas. We will remember our much loved mother for her loving, caring, supportive ways and for her wonderful cooking. The family will receive friends at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday, June 10th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be on Thursday at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church on Friday, June 11th at 11:30 a.m. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. There are no words that can truly express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to a very special man, Dr. Ralph Profetto and his staff for their constant care, kindness and their encouraging words, and also to the V.O.N. for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations to the V.O.N. would be greatly appreciated by our family.
