Margaret Elizabeth MacQueen

Passed away peacefully at Arbour Creek Long Term Care Centre on Thursday October 12th at the age of 90 years. Beloved wife of Malcolm for 26 wonderful years, and cherished mother of Donald MacQueen, Douglas MacQueen, and Bruce MacQueen (Denise-deceased). Treasured grandmother of Laura (John), Caitlyn, Amanda, Molly, and Allison. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bertha Rice, and sibling Ron Rice. Margaret was born in Hamilton Ontario on July 8th, 1927. She moved to the United States after her marriage and was a tireless worker in the churches pastored by her husband Malcolm in Pennsylvania and Delaware. She returned to Canada after his death in 1974 and cared for her father Thomas until his death in 1986. She worked part-time at the Red Cross in Hamilton for 28 years and volunteered her time generously to Delta United Church. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends at the cottage on Lake Muskoka. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Margaret’s many friends and caregivers at Arbour Creek Long Term Care Centre, and especially Judy Brown. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family in a memorial service celebrating Margaret's life to be held at Delta United Church, 47 Ottawa Street South in Hamilton, at 11:00 a.m. on October 16th. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers donations to Delta United Church would be appreciated.
