Margaret Stanton

(nee Furry)

Passed away peacefully following a stroke on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in her 89th year. She passed with her loving family at her side at Idlewyld Manor, after a long battle with Alzheimers. Predeceased by her parents Adrian and Clara, and brother Gordon. She was also predeceased by her loving husband Vern in 2004. She leaves behind her daughters Joanne Bailey (Charles) and Patricia Lendrum (John). Mourning her loss are four grandchildren Erica Gera (Jeremy), Gordon Lendrum, Cristi Bailey (Jason) and Chantelle Lendrum (Lloyd Arnett), and eight great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and their children. Special thank you to Barbara Masefield for her company and comfort at mom's bedside. Margaret spent the majority of her working years in the insurance industry retiring from Wawanesa, including being President of HWIA. She wasactively involved in Scouts Canada for many years acting as Akela. She was an active member of St. John United Church including the UCW until she was diagnosed. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Gateside Wing at Idlewyld Manor for the compassion and loving care of our mother and grandmother, and for the care of us, during the last week. Cremation has taken place. the family will receive friends at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford) on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory.
