Margueritte "Margo" Abradjian

Born on October 29, 1941, in Jounieh, Lebanon, Margo immigrated to Canada in 1976. Over her remarkable life, she was a devoted wife, loving mother and mother-in-law, cherished grandmother, educator, entrepreneur, cancer survivor, and a pillar of her community. At the age of 11, Margo was placed in a Catholic orphanage by her widowed mother, where she received her early education. She became fluent in five languages and later met and married Bedros, her husband of 60 years. After arriving in Canada, Margo worked tirelessly both inside and outside the home to help her family build a better life. For over a decade, she owned and operated the Baskin-Robbins franchise in west Hamilton before retiring. Margo was deeply committed to preserving and sharing Armenian heritage. She dedicated countless weekends and summer days to teaching the Armenian language, music, and culture to children of fellow immigrants. She was a proud and active member of the Armenian Relief Society in Hamilton, where she held various leadership roles and continued to serve until her passing. Margo is survived by her beloved husband Bedros, her children Mark (Sherri), Vic (Sarah), and Aline, and her eight adored grandchildren: Noah, Elizabeth, Hannah, Maggie, Leah, Charlotte, Lila, and Sawyer. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings Dikran (Madeleine) and Lucine, as well as many extended family members and friends across the globe.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 6–9 p.m. at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton. The funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11 a.m., with cremation to follow. A reception will be held afterward at the Armenian Community Centre, 191 Barton Street E., Stoney Creek, Ontario.
