Beloved wife of Jose for 48 wonderful years. Loving mother of Pedro, Marcio and Carina (Patrick). Cherished grandma of Nicole, Bianca and Lucas. Survived by her siblings Estrela, Jesus, Judite, Adriana and Paulo. She is predeceased by her parents Carlos and Helena, brother Duarte and daughter-in-law Ana. Maria had a kind heart, a beautiful spirit, and a deep love for her family. She was hardworking and never stopped fighting, even in the toughest moments. She also cherished life’s simple pleasures — especially her beloved soap operas. Her warmth, strength and love will never be forgotten, reminding us of the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Visitation at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Tuesday, August 19 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the funeral home Chapel at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
