

Beloved mother of Helena McIntyre, Pedro Custodio, Michael Custodio, and Kevin Custodio. Loving Foster Mom to Michael Stouph, and T.J. Stouph. Cherished mother-in-law of Teri, Lisa-Marie, Laura, Crystal, and Erin. Proud Vavo of Emily (Brandon), Cara, Nicholas, Jonathan, Ryan, Damien, Izaiah, Leum, Maria, Paul, and Arvoni. Bis Avo of Cedric. Maria will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Canada, Portugal and the U.S.A. Maria was a mom to everyone. She fostered many children and showed them immense love over the years. She was a lunch lady at St. Helen's and also volunteered at the McQueston Centre where she was able to spread her love to all. A proud member of Banda Portuguesa de Hamilton, where she made many lifelong friendships. A loving person to all, Maria will be dearly missed. The family wishes to thank the wonderful team at Abington Court Retirement Residence for the incredible care. Visitation at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Vigil Prayers at 3:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Parish, (corner of Nash and Barton), on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 10 am. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
