SCHERER, Maria Maria Scherer passed away on January 6, 2013, at Macassa Lodge where she resided for the past 14 years, reaching the age of 90. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Peter (May 1995). Leaving behind her sister-in-law Elisabeth Waldner, Julie Vokosav, Karl Waldner and Hazel Waldner. Maria came to Canada in April 1954 along with her husband from Yugoslavia and made Hamilton their home. Maria suffered from the effects of the conditions brought on by the war years, but being one of Jehovah's Witnesses she greatly looked forward to God's wonderful promises as found in Revelation 21:4 and 5, where under His Kingdom Rule, sickness, death and pain will be eliminated forever. Maria spoke of the blessings to all she met. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cresmount Funeral Home (322 Fennell Ave. E.) A private interment will take place in the family plot at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
