Passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on Friday, August 2, 2019.

Beloved wife of the late Liudvikas Borusas (1984). Loved mother of Roma Thorlakson (Alan), Alge Borusas, and Donna Borusas (Michael Elliott). Cherished Močiutė of Brandon Klein, Justin Klein (Andrea) and great-grandson Matthew.

Mrs. Borusas is remembered as the photographer for the Lithuanian Hamilton community chronicling its settlement and growth throughout half a century and beyond. She captured and preserved so much of the community events and the ordinary events of the Lithuanian family life within the wider Canadian society. Many of these images can be viewed at the Lithuanian Museum-Archives of Canada. Mrs. Borusas was a constant volunteer in the Lithuanian community. Her cherished memories include acting as a chaperone for Aidas, Hamilton’s Lithuanian young women’s choir for their European trip, volunteering at the Ateitininkiṵ stovykla (Franciscan Father’s summer camp), and recently was a member of the Lithuanian Hamilton Catholic Women’s League. Mrs. Borusas enjoyed world travel to places like China, Alaska, Europe, and of course Lithuania.

We want to thank especially her devoted friends who provided companionship and support throughout the many last years, Ida Ulbinas, Adele Lukošius, Karolina Zanon, and Angie and Joanne Venzon. Also, thank you to the excellent nursing staff and doctors at the Hamilton General Hospital.

I remember Ponia Borusiene fondly as I was growing up in the Hamilton Community. Be it with Gyvataras, Ateitininkai, Sestadienine Mokykla, Aidas, Kaziuko Muge, Vasario 16tos minejimus, during events at Ausros Vartu and afterwards in the church hall — there was ponia Borusiene always with a smile, either taking a photograph, engaging you in some conversation or offering a compliment. Aciu for the photographic memories that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.
I offer my sincere condolences to the entire family.
