It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband and Dida, Marijan Antolic, on Saturday May 8th, at his home in Brantford at the age of 71. He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 46 years, Ankica, whom he loved more than anything else. Lovingly remembered by his cherished daughter Marie (Kevin), treasured son Chris (Rebecca) and his adoring grandchildren Ava, Maia and Marcus who always brought a smile to his face. Dear brother of Vlado (Kata), Slavica (the late Tomislav) and Bozo. Much loved nephew of Josipa (the late Nikola). He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and Croatia.
Marijan trained as an electrician in Croatia and worked in Canada as a Master Electrician for many years. Marijan was a loyal friend, always willing to help anyone who asked and he could fix everything he could see. He took great pride in a job well done and passed on his work ethic to his children and grandchildren through his loving example. Marijan loved gardening, picnics, science fiction, history and his home country Croatia. He spent many wonderful evenings with his friends and family playing cards, chess and Uno; along with Ankica, he welcomed everyone into his home. Marijan loved Canada but always held Croatia in his heart.
Marijan passed away from PSP. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Marijan managed his illness with strength, grace and courage and wanted to spend as much time with his family. Many thanks to the PSW’s who took the time to get to know Marijan and keep him comfortable in his home. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Brantford ARTC (artc.ca) where Marijan enjoyed many afternoons or to PSP Canada (pspsocietycanada.ca).
