Marjorie Lacey

Passed away peacefully at Macassa Lodge on Friday, January 19, 2018 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late William Lacey for 63 years. Loving mother of Patricia Vandehei and Lynne Lacey. Predeceased by her parents Edith and Eric Taylor. Sister of Dorothy Walker (deceased) and John Taylor of Hawaii. Loving grandmother of Shelley Labine (Dave), Joe Vandehei (Cindy), Lacey Coleman, Angela Vandehei and Camille Naranjit; also great-grandmother of 10. Friend of the late Bernie Edgeller. Marjorie was a dedicated and well-respected elementary school teacher in Binbrook for many years. She had a passion for teaching and her fondest memories were of the years she taught grades 1-8 in a 1-room schoolhouse (SS #6). We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Macassa Lodge, D Wing, for their care and support. A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 20 Idlewood Avenue, Hamilton on Wednesday, January 24th at 10:00am with interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Garden, 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Parkinson Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
