My deepest condolences to the family of Mary, whom she loved so dearly. Working at Parkdale School I saw the love, patience and kindness she gave to both the children and staff daily. She was an amazing crossing guard each and every day but then came into the school to assist us all with so many things. I think Parkdale was her home away from home and she adopted us all as part of her family. When she retired I painted her a picture of Parkdale School and she proudly showed it to me in her home. Mary, we have all lost a wonderful friend and mentor but heaven has gained a very special angel. I know that you are now enjoying a cup of tea and a hearty laugh.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. I just found out yesterday & my tears started flowing. The world has lost a sweet, kind human being, but heaven has gained an angel.
My years at Parkdale would never have been the same without Mary, my second mom. My late husband, Lew, loved her, too.
Her support with the school choir, school plays & animal visits will never be forgotten. Whatever crazy adventure I brought to Parkdale, she was right there to help.
Thank you, Mary, for the love you showed the kids at Parkdale, for never missing a morning making sure the outside birds there were fed & for every cup of tea we shared.
You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.
To you, her family, she loved you all so much & I know she will be watching over you from heaven.
Take care of each other.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Mary. I was a Parkdale Mom when Mary was the crossing guard there. We had many laughs with wee Mary in the community room. She was always good for a helping hand and always had a good story to tell us all. Rest In Peace Mary

I am saddened to hear of Mary's passing. I met her at Parkdale School when I arrived there in 2003 as an Educational Assistant. Mary's caring and welcome helped me to feel a part of the staff. Our tea times together were the best. Mary I wi always remember when I came back from England and I gave you a mug with different teas and ginger mints you were so surprised. I will miss you. Mary was an extraordinarily kind and thoughtful person.
I was fortunate enough to see this reflected in her work when she was the crossing guard at Parkdale School. Her caring nature for the children and their families was evident in her daily work. She gave generously of her time in the school to assist with snack programs and other events.
My condolences to you, her children, and all who loved her.
