

Loving mother and mother-in-law of Janice & Earl Dusek, John and Anne Lech, Lawrence & Donna Lech, and Loretta Lech. Proud Babcia of Warren Dusek, Stephanie & Matthew Maynard; Olivia, Alexandra and, Sebastian Lech; Gregory and Matthew Lech; and Mary, Eric and John England. PraBabcia of Meredith and Madison Maynard. Mary will be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Phyllis Lech. Predeceased by her Parents Stanley and Mary (Gobka) Garbas, siblings Walter Garbas (the late Hilda Wanger), Catharine Morley (the late John), John Garbas (the late Mary), Josephine Russell (the late George), Angela Simanavicius (the late Victor), Bronty Garbas (the late Phoebe), Francis Garbas, and Andrew Garbas (the late Tina). Mary was the matriarch of her family and will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. She lived a vibrant life and was deeply rooted in the Church. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Polish Catholic Church's CWL since 1955 and held many positions within it, including President and was awarded the Mother of the Year award during that time. In 2010 Mary was honoured for her 20 years of service at the Good Shepherd. Mary was dedicated to keeping family and friends close together and everyone was always welcome in her home. We will miss her sage advice, her sharp wit and laughter and her wonderful cooking.
Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 5–9 p.m. with Rosary (in Polish) at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Polish Catholic Church, 8 Saint Ann Street, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 9 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Celebration reception to follow. If desired, donations to St. Stanislaus Parish or the Good Shepherd Centre would be appreciated.
